Fattoria il Gambero: a wine-producing company in the Oltrepò Pavese region

The design of the label for this company considered values such as dynamism, passion, authenticity, and naturally, the history of the winery located in the Oltrepò Pavese. The company placed itself on the market by balancing modernity and dynamism with its long tradition dating all the way back to 1880. In fact, the wines carry the names of the best horses in the stables of the owner’s father and grandfather, both great lovers of horses. Entirely renovated in 2003, the company now owns 11 hectares of land, half-way up a hill and exposed towards the South, in the heart of the Versa Valley, a historical area for the cultivation of the Oltrepò Pavese vine.

The brand is the stylized letter “G” and is meant to represent a cork that is pulled out of the neck of a bottle. Due to the undefined nature of the line, the symbol also seems to represent a path or a road leading to the company. To give it a bit of solidity, I chose to use a sans-serif font.
In the choice of the labels, I wanted to use the enlarged symbol to emphasize the recognizability of the company. And by means of the colors, materials, and printing techniques, I created a different connotation for each product line.

As far as the communication is concerned, I chose to use the family of origin and its values; a large and well-balanced family, just like the choice made by the owner when creating his wines.
The products made by La Fattoria Il Gambero are distributed both to wine shops and restaurants and to the end consumer.
